DALLAS, TX -- Datacenter operator SoftLayer announced that it has completed provisioning for the addition of a second 10G connection for its Seattle datacenter.

It also announced the beginning of Phase II of construction for adding space for 3,000 servers, after Phase I was completely filled in less than three months from launch.

The company said its Seattle datacenter is only a short distance from the new Verizon-led effort bringing ocean fiber from Asia that will provide an expected 5.12 terabits per second bandwidth at full capacity.
