SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- Software company Heroku has secured $3 million in its first round of institutional venture capital financing.
Heroku is developing software applications for the developer community of Ruby on Rails (RoR). The applications enable faster development of RoR in a cloud computing environment.
Redpoint Ventures led the investment funding. The company said it would use the proceeds to "beef up our current offerings, expand into other parts of the development process, and build out the company to support our quickly growing developer community."
