CoreOptics Raises $25 Million New Venture Capital

SAN JOSE, CA & NUREMBURG, GERMANY -- Optical networking company CoreOptics announced that it has secured $25 million in a new round of venture funding.

CoreOptics is developing subsystems for ultra high speed optical networking applications.  The company's current portfolio includes 10Gbps and 40Gbps transponders for a variety of metro, regional and long haul systems.

Investors included T-Venture Holding GmbH, Crescendo Ventures, TVM Capital, Quest for Growth, High Tech Private Equity, Atila Ventures and others. 

The funding proceeds will be used for completing the company's near-term development plan and expanding its sales and marketing efforts.
