Mountain View,
California -- Internet search
firm Google (Nasdaq:GOOG), made public details about its new App Engine development
environment infrastructure system.
The App Engine allows developers to build their web apps on
the same infrastructure that runs Google's own applications. Free pricing of the services includes 500 MB
of free storage, and enough CPU and bandwidth for about 5 million page views
per month.
Pricing for increments above those amounts are based on a
tiered structure. Additionally, Google
said it will provide two new APIs in the coming weeks - and image manipulation
API and a memcache API, which is a high-performance caching layer designed to
make page rendering faster for developers.
