Mountain View,
California -- Mobile company Skyfire announced that it has
closed its second round of venture capital funding, receiving $13 million in
new investment from a syndicate of VC firms.
Skyfire is developing a new mobile web browser that it says
delivers both the speed and media-rich experience similar to a desktop PC
browser.
Lightspeed Venture Partners led the round, which included
previous investors Matrix Partners and Trinity Ventures. The company said it would use the funds
towards further rollout of its flagship browser.
