New Medical Applications Launch For iPhone

San Francisco, California -- Two medical-specific applications for the Apple iPhone have launched their products concurrently with Apple's WWDC developer conference today in San Francisco.

Modality has created a platform to run on the new 3G iPhone that allows medical students, educators and professionals to get immediate access to key reference materials from their mobile device.  A sample use case is that of a medical student, looking up information on the human body, looking at a detailed piece of data on a specific human body part, selecting it, zooming in and obtaining the necessary information about it.

MIMVista is providing a system that will allow doctors to view medical videos and MRI scans, while outside the office.  The system allows the physician to view and manipulate the images with a combination of finger movements on the iPhone.
