Meritage Pharma Closes First Venture Capital Round

San Diego, California -- Pharmaceutical company Meritage Pharma has announced that it has received $22.5 million in series A venture capital financing.

Meritage is developing pharmaceutical drugs intended for the treatment of allergic inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract.

Investors in the round included Domain Associates, Latterell Venture Partners and The Vertical Group.  The company said it would use the funding proceeds to continue development of its lead inflammation treatment candidate and to look for additional product opportunities.
