San Jose, California --  Online payments company PayPal, a subsidiary of online auction company eBay (Nasdaq: EBAY), introduced its new Developer Central portal, designed to assist software programmers in writing applications for online merchants.

The new portal, scheduled to launch officially in July, will offer a variety of business as well as technical resources to help developers integrate their projects into the PayPal system of online payments.

Concurrent with the announcement, PayPal also introduced new application programming interfaces (APIs) that will allow merchants the ability to more flexibly manage their customer transactions, including options for subscription billing.
