San Jose, California --  Internet technology Co. PlantSense announced that it has received $3.5 million in a series A venture capital funding.

PlantSense has developed a garden tool that is Internet enabled and allows for the user to place a sensor in a spot where they would like to grow plants.  After 24 hours, the user places the sensor into their computer, and it recommends a list of plants that it believes will thrive in that location.

Gabriel Venture Partners led the round, which included other undisclosed investors.  The company said it would use its funding for continued product development, operations and marketing.
