Critical Biologics Finishes Series A

Cambridge, Massachusetts --  Biotech company Critical Biologics Corp. has received an additional $1.5 million in its first round of institutional funding, according to a report in VentureWire.

The company is focused on developing technology for a "theranostic approach to treat critical care patients with low plasma gelsolin levels at high risk of life-threatening complications."

The additional funding was provided by an undisclosed party. The company said that the additional funding will enable it to advance its lead human plasma gelsolin compound.
