Microfabrica Secures Series B Venture Financing

Van Nuys, California --  Components company Microfabrica announced that it has garnered $22.5 million in its second venture capital round.

Microfabrica builds custom components for application specific micro devices for micro- and millimeter-scale devices and systems used in medical device, electronics and defense applications.

Versant Ventures and InterWest Partners led the funding, which included Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Dynafund ventures, Chevron Technology Ventures and Partech International.

The company said it would use the funding proceeds to expand its products and capabilities in minimally invasive medical devices.
