Emeryville, California  --  Fingerprint sensor technology company UPEK has announced the launch of the latest version of its fingerprint Sensor software for the Windows 7 operating system.

Called Protector Suite 2009 , the software can be used with any fingerprint sensor that is supported by the Windows Biometric Framework.

The system also supports browser usage from Windows Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox 3.5.  The benefit to users is that they can simply use their finger instead of memorizing and typing passwords to log on to password-protected websites and applications.
