Blue Belt Pulls In Series A Venture Capital

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania  --  Medical device company Blue Belt Technologies has secured $2.4 million in its first round of venture capital financing.

Blue Belt is a spinoff from Carnegie Mellon University and aims to develop new components for minimally invasive surgery applications.

Pittsburgh Life Sciences Greenhouse led the round, which also included Innovation Works.  The company said the financing would be used to prepare for FDA submission for its "Precision Freehand Sculptor."
