Amyris Biotech Raises Third Venture Capital Financing

Emeryville, California  --  Biotechnology company Amyris Biotechnologies has garnered $41.75 million in its third round of institutional venture capital investment.

Amyris says that it is "leveraging breakthroughs in synthetic biology to provide a consistent, cost-effective supply of high-value natural compounds for large and diverse markets..."

Investors in the round included Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and other undisclosed investors.  The company said it would use the funding proceeds to continue its development efforts and initiatives in both the US and Brazil.
