First Trust Launches Smart Grid Index Fund

Wheaton, Illinois  --  Financial services company First Trust Advisors announce the launch of a new smart grid infrastructure index fund.

Called the First Trust NASDAQ Clean Edge Smart Grid Infrastructure Index Fund (NASDAQ: GRID) the ETF will track the NASDAQ OMX Index of the same name.

According to Ryan Issakainen, vice president at First Trust, "There's a growing movement toward a next-generation power grid - Smart Grid.  A lecture city is one of the largest and most capital intensive sectors in our economy and we are tremendously excited about the potential that investment in this industry represents."
