Ellipse Technologies Debuts Spine Straightening Device

Irvine, California  --  Medical device company Ellipse Technologies announced the first human use of a remote control operated device to straighten a human spine.

Three patients have received the MAGEC System implants that use magnetic expansion control technology for minimally invasive orthopedic deformity prevention and management.

The company expects three additional uses of the device by January, 2010 and its multicenter, clinical usage study.
