AOL Spins Out On Its Own From Time Warner

New York, New York  --  Internet company AOL (NYSE: AOL) successfully spun out from Time Warner (NYSE: TWX) for its first day as an independent, public company.

AOL says that it owns and operates more than 80 premium branded content sites and considers itself one largest producers of quality content on the web.

It aims to become a large display advertising platform for Internet advertisers and publishers as well as provide an improved suite of communications products and services.
