Boston, Massachusetts  --  Prepaid cell phone provider TracFone Wireless announced the launch of a new service for low income households.

Called SafeLink Wireless, the service will provide eligible households with free cell phone access to emergency services and 80 minutes of monthly airtime for up to one year.

“More than 424,000 households in Massachusetts qualify for the Lifeline services – offering these participants the opportunity to have the same access and privileges many individuals take for granted when it comes to using cell phones,” said Jose Fuentes, Director of Government Relations for TracFone.
