Taipei, Taiwan -- Engineering services company Insyde Software unveiled what it called an innovative instant-on solution firmware product.
Called InsydeQ2L, the product is stored in the BIOS ROM, reduces boot time and provides an integration platform for secondary, instant-on operating environments.
"The demand for instant-on solutions is gaining momentum, but the available technology falls short of obtaining true instant on computing. We believed faster startup times could be achieved through streamlining the boot process, and our many years of UEFI BIOS experience proved crucial toward accomplishing this goal," said Barry Doong, Vice President of the Software and Drivers Group at Insyde Software.
