Axcient Accepts $6 Million Series A Venture Capital

San Jose, California  --  Storage company Axcient has secured $6 million in its first round of venture capital financing.

Axcient says that it offers "the first plug-and-play data protection service to make business continuity and online backup simple for small and medium-size businesses."

Investors in the round included Thomvest Ventures, Allegis Capital and Peninsula Equity Partners. The company said it would use the funding to enhance its platform and increase its sales and marketing efforts.
