Aileron Therapeutics Raises $40 Million Series D

Cambridge, Massachusetts  --  Biotechnology company Aileron Therapeutics has garnered $40 million in its fourth round of venture capital financing.

Aileron is "applying its proprietary cell permeable type technology to generate breakthrough therapeutics for the treatment of cancer and other diseases."

SR One and GlaxoSmithKline were the lead investors in the round, which also included Excel Medical Fund, Apple Tree Partners, Novartis Venture Fund, Lilly Ventures And Roche Venture Fund.

The company said it would use the funding proceeds to advance its stapled peptide platform.
