Intrexon Ingests $10 Million Series C Funding

Blacksburg, Virginia  --  Biotechnology company Intrexon Corp. has raised $10 million in its series C round of institutional venture capital funding.

Intrexon is developing modular DNA control systems to enhance the capabilities and lower the costs in "therapeutics, human protein production, and other life science sectors."

Investors in the round included Third Security LLC and other undisclosed investors. Proceeds purposes from the financing were not disclosed.
