SynCardia Systems Secures $10 Million Venture Capital

Tucson, Arizona -- Medical device company
SynCardia Systems
has garnered $10.3 million in a new round of venture capital funding.
SynCardia has developed a temporary total artificial heart that it says is the only such device of its kind in the world.
Highway 12 Ventures led the round, which also included other undisclosed investors. The company did not disclose how the funding proceeds would be used.
