New York, New York  --  News media company the Associated Press announced the availability of the newest version of its mobile news application.

Called AP Mobile 2.0, the application gives Apple iPhone and iPod Touch users the power to customize their own front page to show news in the categories of their choice.

"With this newest Apple App Store release, we look forward to continuing to be a leader in the mobile news space," said Jeff Litvack, AP's mobile and emerging products general manager. "When the decision was made for AP to enter the mobile market, our team decided that the revolutionary iPhone and iPod touch were the natural choices for the development of our innovative news application, and that move has paid off in spades. For the month of April, we found that iPhone users visit AP Mobile five times more often than other smartphone users."
