Renewable Jet Fuel Rocket Closes In On Sound Barrier

Grand Forks, North Dakota  --  The Energy and Environmental Research Center (EERC) announced that a renewable jet propellant fuel that it developed has been successfully flown in a rocket.

The rocket, built by Flometrics, approached the speed of sound (Mach 1) and reached an altitude of approximately 20,000 feet.

The rocket fuel was created "from completely renewable crop oils, such as canola and soybeans."
