Smart-UR Launches Smart Cities Initiative

Tuesday, August 18, 2009 5:01:00 AM PDT | VentureDeal Staff

Los Angeles, California  --  Medical technology company Smart-UR announced today the launch of their Smart Cities Initiative.

The company has developed technology that it calls Utilization Review (UR) and that it claims can reduce workers compensation costs by up to 20%.

According to company president James Schlueter, "the problem here is that the huge savings produced by UR are what capture everyone's attention.  The fact that 80% of the requests are being approved is simply viewed as a necessary and unavoidable cost.  We consider that 80% as waste in the system that can be corrected to make UR even more productive.  This is what Smart Cities is about."
