Complete Genomics Gets $45 Million Series D Funding

Mountain View, California  --  Biotechnology company Complete Genomics has secured $45 million in new round of institutional venture capital funding.

Complete Genomics says that it is any "high-performance DNA sequencing company whose mission is to dramatically reduce the cost of DNA sequencing."

Essex Woodlands Health Ventures and OrbiMed were the lead investors in the round, which also included Enterprise Partners Venture Capital, OVP Venture Partners, Prospect Venture Partners and other undisclosed investors.  Proceeds purposes from the funding round were not disclosed.
