ISO To Release Several Market Enhancements

Folsom, California  --  Energy grid operator California Independent System Operator Corp. (ISO) says that it will release a number of high-tech tools to enhance the new competitive energy market in California.

The new tools promise to add forecasting abilities for use in the ISO control room and provide a broader group of choices for market participants.

"Over the next 18 months, the California ISO intends to implement a series of additions to the basic market design that reflects improvements stakeholders have asked for, or in some cases, elements that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission requires," said ISO Vice President Steve Berberich.
