Fisker Automotive Accepts Venture Capital Funding

Irvine, California  --  Hybrid automobile maker Fisker Automotive has secured $115,300,000 in a new round of institutional venture capital investment.

Fisker is developing plug-in hybrid automobiles using what it calls "the latest technological advancements."

Investors in the round included battery maker A123 Systems, Ace Investments and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.  The company said it would use the funding to secure access to a $528.7 million US Department of energy conditional loan.
