Mountain View, California  --  Internet airfare search engine Fly.com has announced the launch of a service of real-time fare alerts via Twitter.

Initially available for 20 metropolitan areas, the service will contain a unique identifier for each metro area - San Francisco would be @SFfares.

Fly.com staff monitor airfare deals and then posts those results manually to each of the 20 accounts.  The company says that the frequency averages about three tweets per week per account.
