Appcelerator Adds $9 Million New Venture Capital

Mountain View, California  --  Software company Appcelerator has secured $9 million in new venture capital investment.

Appcelerator has created a platform to allow developers to build rich web applications faster and cheaper.

Sierra Ventures led the round, which also included Storm Ventures and eBay. The company said it would use the funding to develop its commerce application tie-in with PayPal.
