Southwest Research Launches Pre-Ignition Consortium

San Antonio, Texas  --  The Southwest Research Institute has announced the launch of a new consortium to suppress low-speed preignition in fossil fuel engines.

Called the P3 Consortium, the group will investigate interactions of fuels and lubricants to understand the physical and chemical properties in play in low-speed preignition.

The benefit of such research is that it can reduce engine part damage and increase fuel efficiency.
