Genomatica Secures $15 Million Series C Funding

San Diego, California  --  Biotechnology company Genomatica has garnered $15 million in its third round of institutional venture capital funding.

Genomatica is utilizing biotechnologies to develop improved chemicals from renewable feedstocks.

TPG Biotechnology Partners was the lead investor in the round, which also included Alloy Ventures, Mohr Davidow Ventures and Draper Fisher Jurvetson.  The company said it would use the funding proceeds to expand its pipeline.
