EBay And Gmarket To Expand In Asian Markets

San Jose, California  --  Online marketplace company eBay (NASDAQ: EBAY) has announced its expansion plans with its e-commerce subsidiary Gmarket.

The agreement will strengthen eBay's presence in Japan and Singapore, where the company expects the market to grow by 30% and 13% respectively between 2009 and 2012.

Gmarket founder Young Bae Ku will be chief executive officer for a new entity that will drive the vision for Gmarket's future growth.
