Palo Alto, California -- Internet social networking site Facebook has secured $120 million in new venture capital investment.

Facebook operates the world's largest social directory that enables people to share information that is most relevant and interesting to them.

Elevation Partners made the investment. Specific proceeds purposes were not disclosed by the company.
