Mobile Phone Demand Expands As Market Fragments

Framingham, Massachusetts  --  Research company IDC has published a report that states that worldwide mobilephone demand continued to show signs of improvement in the second quarter of 2010.

The report, called the Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, said that mobilephone vendors shipped a total of 317.5 million units, up 14.5% from the 277.2 million units shipped during the second quarter of 2009.

The analysts stated that the improvement was largely driven by smart phone vendors and companies outside the top five worldwide leaders.
