Relypsa Receives $70 Million Series B Venture Capital

Santa Clara, California  --  Pharmaceutical development company Relypsa has garnered $70 million in its second round of venture capital funding.

Relypsa is developing new "non-absorbed polymeric drugs for important applications in renal and cardiovascular disease."

Investors in the round were New Leaf Venture Partners, 5AM Ventures, OrbiMed and Delphi Ventures. The company said it would use the financing proceeds to support the advancement of its lead compound, RLY5016.
