NextWave Pharma Launches Antihypertensive Agent

   Cupertino, California  --  NextWave Pharmaceuticals announced the launch of a new treatment formulation for cardiovascular related disease.

With a trade name of NEXICLON XR, the daily medication is the first extended-release clonidine treatment that allows for once-daily dosing.

Clonidine has been available for decades as a centrally acting alpha-adrenergic agonist, but NextWave has been able to create formulation in either oral suspension or tablet form that allows for a more convenient once daily dosage.
