Los Gatos, California  --  Amalfi Semiconductor has secured $9.2 million in venture capital debt financing, according to an SEC regulatory filing.

Amalfi is developing high-performance CMOS RF and mixed-signal semiconductors for the cellular phone industry.

In August of this year, the company announced the launch of what it calls "the world's most economical and high-performance CMOS-based transmit modules for front-and GSM/GPRS cellular handsets."

Amalfi was founded in 2003 and is backed by a syndicate of venture capital firms including Battery Ventures, DCM, GlobeSpan Capital Partners and Trinity Ventures.

The company is still seeking $2.8 million in additional financing, according to the filing.
