Apple Emerges As Leading Connected TV Player

   Boston, Massachusetts  --  Apple has emerged as a leading player in the growing connected TV player market, according to research from Strategy Analytics.

The report, entitled "Connected TV Players: Another Battlefield in the Smart TV War", says that Apple will have captured 32% of the video streaming and/or Internet TV set top box market in 2011.

Apple TV users are also spending more money on movies and TV shows, with 30% of them purchasing compared to 20% of users of other devices.

The report says that the lower price of the second-generation Apple TV boxes have made them more affordable and compelling to consumers.
