San Diego, California  --  Globaltel Media has announced the launch of localized versions of its SMS chat application.

Called Cherple, the service provides PC-to-cell phone communications free of charge.

The company originally launched its English service in 2009 and expanded to Mexico, Brazil, India and the Philippines.

Globaltel says that 41% of its international users come from Asia, which it says provides a fertile ground for expansion due to their high mobile cellular phone subscriber base.
