Akebia Therapeutics Adds $12 Million VC Funding

   Cincinnati, Ohio  --  Pharmaceutical technology company Akebia Therapeutics has garnered $12 million in new venture capital investment, according to an SEC regulatory filing.

Akebia is developing treatments for ischemia and the improvement of vascular disease.

Investors in the financing were not disclosed, nor was how the company intends to use the funding proceeds.

Akebia is still seeking an additional $7 million in funding.
