Waltham, Massachusetts  --  Software technology company Bit9 has garnered $12.5 million in new venture capital funding, according to a company announcement.

Bit9 has developed an application whitelisting solution that reduces the risk caused by unauthorized software in enterprise networks.

Atlas Venture led the round, which included previous investors Highland Capital Partners, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and .406 Ventures.
