Akebia Adds $2 Million Venture Capital Funding

   Cincinnati, Ohio  --  Pharmaceutical company Akebia Therapeutics has secured nearly $2 million in additional venture capital, according to an SEC regulatory filing.

Akebia is developing treatments for ischemia and improvement of vascular disease.

Investors in the financing were not disclosed, nor was how the company intends to use the funding proceeds.

Akebia is still seeking an additional $8 million in financing.
