HP Intends To Drive Growth Of webOS

   Palo Alto, California  --  Computer manufacturer and services company HP (NYSE: HPQ) announced that it intends to accelerate the global expansion of its webOS operating system platform.

Originally obtained from its acquisition of Palm, the operating system now has a new senior vice president in Stephen DeWitt, who has been leading the Personal Systems Group Americas at HP.

DeWitt indicated that HP intends to work closely with the developer community, channel partners and start-up community to create a viable application ecosystem.
