BirchBox Closes Series A Venture Capital Round

  New York, New York  --  Internet company BirchBox has secured $10.5 million in its first round of institutional venture capital investment.
 
BirchBox operates an online website that provides samples of luxury products to its subscribers, who are primarily women.

Accel Partners led the round, which also included First Round Capital, Harrison Metal Capital, Lerer Ventures, Stanford and other individual investors.

The company said it would use the funding to "pursue continued growth in BirchBox' core offer."
