Ellipse Technologies Secures Third VC Round

   Irvine, California  --  Medical device company Ellipse Technologies has closed $17.6 million in series C venture capital investment, according to a company statement.

Ellipse is developing an implantable remote control device for the treatment of spinal and orthopedic damage.

Investors in the financing included HBM BioVentures, BioStar Funds, Wexford Capital and the MedFocus Fund.

The company said it would use the funding to initiate commercialization of its lead products.
