Lebanon, New Hampshire  --  Renewable fuel technology company Mascoma has highlighted milestones accomplished in its commercialization strategy to improve the economics of corn ethanol production.

Mascoma has developed a proprietary technology platform for its yeast product that it says lowers costs for corn ethanol producers by removing the need to purchase most of the expensive enzymes currently used in production.

The company said it has executed a multiyear commercial agreement with energy company Valero to develop a 20,000,000 gallon per year commercial-scale facility.

Mascoma also said it is expecting to generate revenues in the first quarter of this year.
