Akonni Biosystems Bags $1 Million Venture Capital

   Frederick, Maryland  --  Biotechnology company Akonni Biosystems has secured $935,000 in venture capital investment, according to an SEC regulatory filing.

Akonni markets integrated molecular diagnostic systems for a variety of human- and animal-borne diseases and infectious agents.

Investors in the financing were not disclosed, nor was how the company intends to use the funding proceeds.

Akonni is still seeking $19 million in additional financing, according to the filing.
