Joule Lands $70 Million Third VC Funding

   Cambridge, Massachusetts  --  Alternative energy company Joule Unlimited has raised $70 million in its series C round of institutional venture capital funding.

Joule is developing technology that creates liquid fuel from sunlight, waste CO2 and non-potable water.

Flagship Ventures invested in the round, along with other unnamed investors.

The company said it would use the funding proceeds to build out and operate its facility located in Hobbs, New Mexico.
